NEW MURAL ON HOLTON LANE

Takoma Park, MD:

The Takoma/Langley Crossroads Development Authority (CDA) has contracted with Krsko Group to create a new mural on 1337 Holton Lane, Takoma Park.  The new mural is across the street from a large mural created in 2015 by Krsko about migration, a fitting theme for the area’s international character.

The project will begin in March with two community meetings organized by Krsko to solicit ideas from area residents and local businesses.  The first meeting on March 17 from 6-8pm, will have artists introduce past projects, process, and vision for the mural, and engage in an exchange of ideas with the community.  At the second meeting on March 23 from 6:30-8:30pm, artists will present an updated sketch that incorporates ideas and imagery from the first meeting.   Both meetings will be held at the Takoma Park Recreation Center, 7315 New Hampshire Avenue, Takoma Park.

Extensive outreach will be done by Krsko Group and CDA to encourage public participation in the mural project.  Once painting begins in mid-May, volunteers will be invited to join in, giving residents and young artists a role in the project.

The Takoma/Langley Crossroads Development Authority is a 501c6 business association founded in 1987 to market and promote, provide maintenance and amenities for the Takoma/Langley Commercial Management District.
