Takoma Langley Crossroads Development Authority seeks a Communications & Engagement Manager to help serve, market, and strengthen the Crossroads commercial district. This role reports to the Executive Director and will be responsible for operations support, marketing efforts, strategic planning, and advocacy and community organizing. The successful candidate will be a self-starter, engaging, and creative.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operations Support:
• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the office.
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and engagement with members, partners and stakeholders.
Business Engagement:
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with local businesses and stakeholders.
• Act as a liaison between the Executive Director and external partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Social Media Management & Marketing Support:
• Develop and execute social media strategies to enhance the organization’s online presence.
• Monitor and engage with the community through various social media platforms
• Collaborate on marketing materials, including newsletters, press releases, and promotional content.
• Ensure brand consistency in all internal and external communications.
Strategic Planning:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director in setting organizational goals and objectives.
Fundraising Assistance:
• Support the planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns.
• Assist in maintaining donor relationships and managing donor databases.
Advocacy and Community Organizing:
• Assist in advocating for the organization’s mission and goals within the community.
• Collaborate with community groups and organizations to organize events and initiatives that align with the organization’s objectives.
Research and Analysis:
• Conduct research on relevant topics, trends, and best practices to support decision-making.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to assist the Executive Director in making informed choices.
Project Management:
• Manage special projects assigned by the Executive Director, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and monitor project timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong proficiency in social media management, website maintenance, and email marketing tools (e.g., MailChimp, CRM databases, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
PREFERENCES:
• Bilingualism in Spanish is heavily preferred.
